SUPERFRONT get involved

SUPERFRONT’s work provides spaces, project structures, and network overlap to foster creative exchange and experimentation which is based on deep cross-disciplinary partnerships and supported by many generous individuals and talented volunteers.

Interns are a vital part of SUPERFRONT. All of SUPERFRONT’s internships will be located in New York. Prospective interns who have an interest in architecture, art, design-built, urban planning, community development, public art, nonprofit management, public relations, development, and marketing are encouraged to apply. Internships are unpaid. IDP Credit via NCARB is available. We request a minimum contribution of 10-15 hours per week with the opportunity to work flexibly and independently.

Interns will work closely with the Program Director to develop large-scale public projects including exhibitions, events, design competitions, and dynamic public programming.


  • Assist with program research and planning
  • Assist with the development and management of existing and new social profiles, as well as the organization website
  • Support the documentation of SUPERFRONT programs
  • Support the planning and execution of the annual spring Gala
  • Research potential funding sources for upcoming SUPERFRONT initiatives (foundations, corporations, individuals, government)
  • Contribute to the planning, research, and writing of SUPERFRONT’s original content across social media, website, and email channels
  • Prepare development and marketing materials for organization and specific projects and events (requires proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Contribute to materials including newsletters, development and outreach campaigns, and editorial content
  • Perform clerical activities and aid staff in running errands and providing support as needed
  • Assist with other development projects as they arise


  • Experience organizing public programs and events
  • Interest and/or experience in organizing programs or events with unusual formats and/or in locations outside institutions desirable
  • Ability to represent SUPERFRONT to partners, clients, and stakeholders in a highly professional manner
  • Excellent organization skills, keen eye for detail and ability to multitask and work independently
  • Excellent writing skills, with experience writing for web desirable
  • Editorial experience, specifically writing, editing, and proofreading
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with diverse populations in myriad settings
  • Hands-on and practical, positive energy, reliability, flexibility and a willingness to help
  • Familiarity with the basics of HTML, CSS, Photoshop, and InDesign preferred
  • Experience with event production and documentation (photography and video) desirable
  • Graphic design skills desirable
